Dharma Talk
The Soul of a Yoga Class
Yoga is not only about stretching the body or perfecting an asana. It is about learning to become more aware of ourselves.
A Dharma Talk is a small reflection shared in a yoga class. It brings yogic wisdom into the practice and helps students connect movement with meaning.
When we speak about presence, surrender, balance, compassion, discipline or acceptance during class, the practice becomes deeper. A pose is no longer just a pose. It becomes a way to understand ourselves.
Balance on the mat can teach us how to stay steady in life.
Surrender in a posture can remind us to stop forcing everything.
Breath can show us how to pause before reacting.
Compassion in practice can help us be kinder to ourselves and others.
This is how yoga moves beyond the mat.
What we learn in class slowly becomes part of daily life. The patience we build in an asana, the calm we find through breath, and the awareness we practice in stillness can support us in our relationships, work, emotions and choices.
Dharma Talk helps us remember why we practice.
Asana prepares the body.
Breath steadies the mind.
Wisdom nourishes the soul.
And that is where yoga truly begins.
